CPS Corruption and Human Trafficking Exposed in San Luis Obispo Republicans Sam Blakeslee and Able Maldonado have teamed together for a child charity in the greater San Luis Obispo area named "The Family Care Connection".

While promoting this charity both politicians refuse to review corruption in the local CPS office. Legislation gives states incentives under Title IV-E to increase the number of children adopted out from foster care. Title IV funding provided to local CPS offices is being used for capturing and adopting out children. However, not all of these children are abused or neglected. Many children who are taken by CPS are not at risk or in any danger thus our Government is creating a form of "child trafficking". Children are becoming a very "profitable commodity". Under section 1962(b) of the RICO Act it unlawful for a person to acquire or maintain an interest in an enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity. Since a RICO claim cannot be made in the absence of criminal activity many parents are being unjustly prosecuted in kangaroo courts so that children can remain in the "system".

Maryland officials plan to announce this week whether the state will sever ties with the state's second-largest foster care provider, a decision that also could determine whether the company keeps its contract in the District of Columbia.

Officials with the Maryland Department of Human Resources, the agency charged with protecting the state's 7,400 foster children, is expected to announce a decision on renewing the license for Contemporary Family Services. The Hyattsville company's contract in D.C. depends on it retaining its Maryland license, according to officials with the District of Columbia's Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services.

Advocates for Maryland's abused and neglected youths said Wednesday that the state's second-largest foster care placement company failed the children in its care by allowing the qualification assessments of the homes they live in to lapse.

Ed Kilcullen, director for Maryland's network of Court Appointed Special Advocates, said he is alarmed that the Hyattsville-based Contemporary Family Services did not document annual recertification for some of its homes, including providing up-to-date records such as criminal background clearances. The state has issued a pending sanction against the company that could block new referrals for foster care placement.

(Video Report) The DOJ accused the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office of racial profiling in traffic stops and immigration operations.

Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez said at a packed news conference that the findings were not based on isolated incidents and not gleaned solely from statistics but about real people caught up in the sheriff's web of unconstitutional activity. The problem, Perez said, is rooted in a culture in the Sheriff's Office that breeds a culture of disregard for the constitution.

The center, previously known as the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, is undergoing a facelift with a new name, new logo and new mission statement.

Last year the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County had 4,251 referrals for services. On average they see 275 clients a week in the therapy department. They served more than 1,200 in the center's Rainbow Room. The Rainbow Room is set up almost like a mini department store for the child. It is an emergency resource center stocked with all new items -- clothes, toys, books and toiletries.

Frankfort police and child protective services were called to Green Meadows Intermediate School on Thursday after taking reports of a verbal and physical altercation between a 3rd grader and substitute gym teacher Steven Royer.

Details of the confrontation are still coming to light. But indications are that Royer was accused of kicking the 3rd grader during gym class. He was arrested there at the school and booked on two counts of battery.

A Seward lawmaker has tabled his measure aimed at protecting faith-based foster care agencies from losing state funding if they decline to work with same-sex couples.

Sen. Mark Kolterman said the bill's intent was not to encourage or enable discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender people in Nebraska but to keep faith-based agencies from going out of business to the detriment of 5,600 children in the foster care system.

Melissa Portillo and her 2-year-old daughter, JonTaia Warrack, still were missing Friday evening after they disappeared together during a supervised visit at Portillo's apartment on 26th and M streets.

Police have given little information on the circumstances, but the girl's foster mother -- who wouldn't identify JonTaia by name -- said the girl's biological mother fled Friday morning through a bedroom window after locking a foster care case worker in a hallway. By late Friday, a judge had issued an arrest warrant for Portillo on a charge of violating child custody, a felony.

In April 2013, police officers and a social worker from Sacramento County's Child Protective Services entered the home of Anna and Alex Nikolayev and took their baby, Sammy, away from them. They had no warrant.

The secrecy surrounding CPS stems from the nature of California's juvenile dependency courts which only allow limited press access and seal all court records. While media and other interested parties can petition the court to open the records, this can be a lengthy process and by no means guarantees results. ReasonTV petitioned the court to open the records in the Nikolayev's case and, almost two months later, we have still not received a ruling from the judge.

STOCKTON - A federal lawsuit filed in Sacramento last week alleges local authorities violated the civil rights of two parents after their teenage daughter said she was being sexually abused by her father.

The suit, filed by Stephen and Alma Moortgat, accuses San Joaquin County social workers and Stockton police officers of violating constitutional protections in May 2008 when they allegedly took the Moortgat's unnamed daughter into protective custody, then entered the family home and forced Stephen Moortgat to leave. The suit goes on to accuse county social workers of inappropriately prohibiting the father from contacting his wife and children, forcing the family to participate in "voluntary" counseling and disclosing to the teen, who is now 15, that Stephen Moortgat was not her biological father.
