Oakland police continue to ask for the public's help in finding a 5-year old disabled boy who was reported missing nearly two weeks ago.

It has been 11 days since Hasanni vanished. The balloons at an impromptu memorial are starting to deflate. "We want to focus on Hasanni," his foster father Louis Ross said.

OAKLAND -- High speeds, an arrest for drunk driving, and 3-year-old twins not strapped into car seats. Bad decisions by adults caused a terrible car crash in Oakland Monday morning.

One of the twin boys died from his injuries Monday evening. The other remains on full life support. The boys' mother also died. The driver, Tiffany Reynolds of Richmond, is under arrest after surviving with serious injuries. Reynolds has been charged with a DUI, vehicular manslaughter and driving with a suspended license.

The fight for civil liberties continues in San Antonio. The Northside Independent School District recently launched its controversial "Student Locator Project," which requires students to carry ID badges equipped with radio frequency tracker chips.

If they refuse, they could face fines, "involuntary transfers," or suspensions. John Jay High School officials insisted the trackers were needed to combat truancy and improve attendance rates. By improving attendance rates the Northside ISD hoped to get an additional $2 million in state funding-that's on top of the reported $815 million in revenue they got in 2008-09 from local, state, and federal sources. (This is the latest year data are available, and note Northside's expenditures exceeded $1 billion. Under "District Details," click "Fiscal.")

If you don't believe that the United States government is growing closer and closer to complete and total tyranny, this bit of news will hopefully change your mind.

Three years ago, Natural News reported on a German family that was fined $10,000 and had their children forcibly removed from their home. What kind of terrible crime did the parents, Uwe and Hannelore Romeike, commit? The crime of Homeschooling. That's right; the Romeike family was fined $10,000 and lost their five children because they had chosen to homeschool them.

Like a lost soul on an endless voyage, Deborah Connor has never given up fighting to regain custody of her 11-year-old son, Ryan Cook.

When Deborah Connor lost custody of her 3-month-old, breast-feeding, infant son, on April 20, 1990, to Mark Cook, a batterer, in Billings, Montana, she couldn't believe that her right to due process was stolen in a court of law.

MORGANTOWN -- Children are dying from abuse and neglect at a higher rate in West Virginia than any other state, a problem that judges, social workers and others say is fueled by rampant substance abuse.

Without a sufficient statewide safety net of suitable foster care, adoptive families, in-home services and community-based prevention and treatment programs for addicted parents and their children, abuse victims are all too likely to repeat what they have learned.

Jurors were unable to reach a verdict Friday in a civil lawsuit against the city of Merced and a Merced police officer who used a Taser on a legless man during a confrontation in 2009.

The eight-member jury in federal court here began deliberations about 2:30 p.m., but at 6 p.m. their deliberations were deadlocked - 4 to 4 - and a hung jury was declared. Williams also claimed officers humiliated him by leaving him on the pavement with his pants down and genitals exposed after he'd been shocked with the Taser.

When protecting our lives, we can rely only upon ourselves.

It's a holiday. You're at the beach with your family when you notice a man standing neck deep in the water. Something tells you he may be trying to commit suicide. Firemen and police officers soon arrive, but to your amazement, they do nothing, watching for an hour until the man finally succeeds. Then they refuse to collect his body. Disgusted, you swim out and pull the unfortunate man to shore. Fanciful fiction? Unfortunately, no.
