A local woman was given probation after confessing to Child Protective Services that she left her children alone for the sake of having sex with a 13-year-old neighbor.

According to My San Antonio, 26-year-old Amanda Ann Nabers will also have to register as a sex offender, a title which will stay with her for the rest of her life. From February, 2011 to August, 2011, Nabers reportedly engaged in similar trysts with the child four or five times.

A Utah woman who was ordered by a juvenile court judge to enroll her children in public school or lose custody of them has abandoned her home, furniture and other possessions to escape the order.

Denise Mafi, a nine-year veteran of homeschooling, has confirmed to WND she and her children packed up their essentials - clothes and homeschool materials - and fled Utah over the weekend, spending more than 50 hours on a bus trip to another undisclosed part of the country.

Police charged Kimada C. Hines, 24, of Roanoke Avenue, with child abuse. Investigators said the child told them he had been beaten by his mother.

The woman accused of lying about her credentials and deceiving parents of autistic students and duping the city out of thousands of dollars appeared in Norwalk Superior Court today.

Stacy Lore, 33, of Carmel, N.Y., was charged with three counts each of second-degree forgery, first-degree larceny and criminal impersonation. Her bond was set at $200,000 and her case was transfered to the Part A dockett at Stamford Superior Court. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April 14.

A 39-year-old woman is accused of falsely informing St. Joseph School and other service professionals in the community her 12-year-old son had cancer.

Bardstown Police said several fundraisers were held to benefit Nancye Beth Avis' family during the past two years and that Avis' son does not and has never had cancer. Police have been working with Child Protective Services on the investigation.

A woman from The Colony has been accused of causing serious injuries to a 17-month-old child by repeatedly jumping on him while he was lying on the floor.

Priscilla Marie Pena, 22, was arrested by Lewisville police June 28 for injury to a child, a second-degree felony that carries a possible punishment of two to 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 fine. She was released on $300 bond. The boy was injured May 17 when he was left in Pena's care while his mother went shopping, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

A Oceanside woman accused of murdering her 4-year-old foster child entered her not guilty plea Monday through her attorney.

Dania Haros, 23, stood in the dock as her lawyer, Manuel Gonzalez, entered the plea. She lowered her head at times, and nodded when Vista Superior Court Judge David Rubin asked her if she pleaded not guilty.

Police have incriminating evidence that 33-year-old Roberta Fleck made her daughter sick on purpose.

Dr. Hibbard called police after suspecting that Fleck suffered from a condition called Munchausen's Syndrome by Proxy. That's when a caregiver falsifies or induces the patient's illness for attention.

A 40-year-old Hooper woman was charged Monday with allegedly raping and having oral sex with her 14-year-old foster son several times in October.

Weber County deputies interviewed the boy at the Ogden Children's Justice Center. He said he didn't want to get his foster mother in trouble but acknowledged she had asked him not to "disclose information which could ruin the family or put Montag in jail," court documents state. Liz Sollis, spokeswoman for the Utah Department of Human Services, said all foster children have been removed from Montag's home.

BARTLESVILLE - A $25,000 bond was set Monday for a Dewey woman charged felony child neglect after police found her in a car with two feces-covered toddlers.

Stephanie Lynn Notah, 44, is charged with felony child neglect, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and transporting an open container. Special Judge Kyra Williams ordered Notah to have no contact with the 3-year-olds, who were taken into custody by child welfare authorities.
