The Williamson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday cut thousands of dollars from social services in the proposed 2012 budget, including for programs that provide meals to the elderly and transportation for needy people in rural areas.

The commissioners are trying to pare down a proposed budget of $129.55 million, which spends about $4 million more than the county expects to get in revenue. The social services cuts total about $121,100. The county auditor proposed a tax rate Tuesday of 49.93 cents per $100 of assessed property value, a 2 percent increase over this year's rate. A tax bill for the average-value home, up $854 to $180,868 after exemptions, would be $903, an increase of $21, according to county figures.

In the heated contest over the Republican nomination to be Williamson County's district attorney, incumbent John Bradley has repeatedly said challenger Jana Duty, the elected county attorney, doesn't have enough experience to do his job.

In an op-ed article published on the Austin American-Statesman's website May 14, 2012, for instance, Bradley talked up his résumé and then said: "Duty has never prosecuted a single adult felony case." Not one?

Two Willits women had a court date last Thursday to enter pleas in a child endangerment case involving an infant dropped from a second-floor balcony in January.

The child apparently suffered no significant injuries in the fall and was taken into custody by Child Protective Services. Sonja Elizabeth Olsen, 38, pleaded not guilty to child endangerment, while Lacee Marie Ross, 26, failed to appear and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

Willow and Jaden Smith have been the center of controversy over the past month. When the infamously questionable picture surfaced of 13-year-old Willow in bed with 20-year-old actor, Moises Arias.

As a matter of fact, the picture caused so much controversy that the Los Angeles Department of Child Protective Services reportedly stepped in to investigate the situation. As if the bed debacle wasn't enough, now there's another allegation running rampant. Several news outlets have reported that although the "Whip My Hair" singer may not be sleeping with an older man, there is something she and her brother sleep with - snakes!

Case closed regarding an investigation of Willow Smith's relationship with Moises Arias.

"There has been no evidence presented that Willow has ever been in any danger around Moises, or that she has ever been physically or emotionally abused," a source told RadarOnline. "It's likely the investigation will remain open for the next two weeks out of an abundance of caution, with no findings of reprimand against Will and Jada. Willow is a very well adjusted, smart, and articulate young lady."

Wimmers pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, and she faces 5 to 15 years in prison when she is sentenced by Judge Barry M. Donalty on Monday, Dec. 14.

The love and protection she was supposed to receive from a parent instead was replaced with sexual abuse and pornographic exploitation as she was tossed from foster parent to foster parent, Nebush said. As a 10-year-old girl, Wimmers was repeatedly raped by one of her foster fathers, Jeffrey Deeter, who has since been sentenced to up to 50 years in prison.
