Man faces neglect charge

GUTHRIE, OK -- A Guthrie man has been charged in Logan County District Court with child neglect.

Cory Dan Cox, 26, is accused of injuring one of his 4-month-old babies between March 3 and Aug. 31, 2004, according to court records.

His wife, Christina Lynn Segura, a Department of Human Services employee, has been charged with enabling child neglect.

Assistant District Attorney Lori Hines said the investigation was requested after one of the couple's twin girls received a head injury in 2004.

"The injuries were inconsistent with the statements made by the parents," Hines said.

The children were taken from the parents in December 2004. There appears to be no long- term damage from the injuries, Hines said.
