Arkansas Infant Kidjacked

Arkansas Infant Kidjacked

My girlfriend and I got into a heated argument and she was taken to jail for domestic battery.

Since we were not married, they took my beautiful 5-month-old infant daughter. Despite my name being listed on the birth certificate, they said they had to take her because I had no legal parent rights to the child.

We both appeared at the emergency hearing, and I testified that I was her biological father, and so did my girlfriend. I established paternity, but they still kept my daughter. I was assigned a caseworker, and was able to visit my daughter a few days ago for one hour.

During the visit, I noticed her hair was all matted up, and could not be brushed because of the entanglements. She has also developed a severe diaper rash, the likes of which she never had while with her mommy and daddy. She has developed a rash on her cheeks, which looks like she has been sleeping in her own slobber.

She appeared drugged - no longer the happy little baby girl she was while in our custody. She was lethargic, like she was doped up on Nyquil or something. I brought with me a parental visitation form, and documented this in front of the caseworker. She said I could expect some of these types of things, to which I disagreed. I was able to videotape the evidence.

Here in Arkansas, there is some law, which says a child can be taken if the father isn’t married to the mother. What a load of crap! My attorney said that he would file an emergency petition if her condition get worsens. I am scared for her safety. The caseworker is recommending drug and alcohol assessments, and I wasn’t charged with anything!

I feel like my rights have been violated, and even worse my daughters’ rights! This has devastated my family, I feel like they had no legal right to place her in foster care to begin with. On the Arkansas Department of Human Services website, it says that because of a "shortage" of caucasian infants, they are not taking application for adoption for "white" babies, only "black" infants! This makes me cringe, because my baby is white, with big beautiful sky blue eyes, and is very adorable.

I feel like they are trying to steal her, for federal funding, and adoption bonuses. The next hearing is set for August 15th, and I am only able to see her for one-hour each week, and they have an hour and a half drive to see me.

When I picked her up last time, I could tell that she sat in a soiled diaper the whole trip! What a travesty. Can anyone help? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sincerely,
Scared Dad in Arkansas

Get Nate Home

Get Nate Home

My name is Rufina Shteynberg and I am a member of a group who is trying to help Nate Tseglin and his family. Nate has a Aspersers syndrome (mild form of autism) and has been handcuffed and removed from the loving and caring home of Riva and Ilya in Irvine, CA.

He has been placed in the ill reputed Fairview Development Center, a mental institution and being drugged with psychotropic drugs against his and his parent will. Because of this treatment he had suffered from epileptic seizures and had been admitted to emergency room (ER) numerous times and his health had deteriorated dramatically.

Dear Friends,

Please help us raise awareness to the tragedy of this family, publish an article about Nate on your site, look at www.getnatehome.com for more details, then sign a petition to support Nate and his family.

Drugging Foster Kids

Are Drugs Being Misused on Foster Kids?

Colby Holcomb's mom concedes that the 8-year-old, who's been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, can be a handful at home. But does such behavior merit the treatment Colby received in foster care?

Andrea Holcomb lost custody of her son when he was 7, after her ex-husband made allegations of sexual abuse, national correspondent Byron Pitts reported in this CBS News story. The allegations later proved false — but in the meantime, Colby was placed in the Texas foster care system. For 18 months, he was in at least five foster homes.

Andrea says Colby was on at least 20 different drugs when he was in foster care. Yet, she says she has "no idea" why and says it was never explained to her.

There's Growing Concern That Anti-Psychotic Drugs Are Being Misused On Children In Foster Care

Andrea Holcolmb and her young son Colby are not unique. All too often children are placed in foster care before the facts of the case are in, in 90 cases out of 100, the allegations are proven to be totally false. Yet, the damage has already been done.

Once a child is removed from their home, away from the loving eyes of their parents, they are no longer protected - by anyone. Welfare workers and foster parents are left to seek medical treatment, psychological diagnoses and treatment against the parents wishes that are often anything but in the best interest of the child.

These unethical practices can prove to be detrimental to the child, the family unit and can even lead to death. These practices must be called into question and halted. Parents, who are presumed innocent, until proven guilty under the U.S. Constitution must be consulted before any decision are made regarding the well-being of their children, until a judge in a duly authorized court of law had deemed them unfit.

This is the only way we can hope to protect our children.

Below you will find links to more video's documenting the problem and providing plenty of fodder for thought.

Call For Help

I live in Indiana and am trying to get my fourteen-year-old daughter out of residential treatment care. There are daily fights and I fear for my daughters health and safety. She was getting out of control and needed a wake up call, but she's had more than that.

My daughter has been in the custody of the state for about 4 weeks and my story is one that I have yet to see. My daughter and I have had some serious issues for about a year and a half. I've raised my daughter (and two older kids) by myself for the last seven years.

I am on disability due to degenerative back disease, Fibromyalgia, several autoimmune disorders and so on. Needless to say, it is painful. I am an intractable pain patient and take prescriptions accurately. I take medication prescribed by my doctor, which means that I do not get high or silly. It's like any other medication - the side effects go away.

I had worked my way up to a financial controller position prior to becoming ill. I have been a good mother; there is no one that could love my children more.

My youngest has been acting up for about a year and a half. I found drugs on her about a month ago, which is when everything blew up. I called her father who had rarely been in her life, because she became physical with me.

He took her to his house. I begged, my mother to allow him to keep her until I could get insurance (which he was court ordered to pay) and counseling set up. It had reached the point of no control.

Well, he brought her back two days later, I was panicking trying to get everything done and it didn't happen fast enough. She snuck out of the house one night and I couldn't find her. I called her father again, big mistake, he called the police and they told him to call CPS. Well, he told them about my illness, etc., and then they showed up at my door.

Not understanding, I let them in. They took her that day and now she is being told that she will be living with her father since he's married, etc. This is a man I would call on her birthdays to remind him and he still wouldn't call to wish her happy birthday.

I'm finding that they believe that I have a drug problem. Nothing about this was brought up in the first hearing but I guess the found nothing else to hold against me. I don't have a drug problem, I am in constant pain. I've taken my medicine as prescribed. It doesn't affect my judgment. Believe me, I am not an addict nor do I try to get high. It's the same as someone taking a heart pill.

Meanwhile, my daughter who has never been in trouble with the law is living in a state residential program. She cries to me every night wanting to come home. My heart is torn so badly.

My doctor is going to get the foundation for pain's lawyer involved.

I just want my daughter home, receiving family counseling. Have you heard of this happening before?

My lawyer is even treating me different since she heard from CPS. I'm looking forward to at least four more wonderful years with my daughter and I'm afraid that time will be stolen from me. I would give the medicine up in a heartbeat, if I would be able to get out of bed without it.

Our case plan was suppose to be today at 8:30 pm. They held it this morning with only my daughter there. She was told that I was a drug addict and that what I was taking would kill me. She called crying and worrying. She said they were saying terrible things about me.

Do you have any advice? Any answers would be greatly appreciated! Anyone that talks to me can tell that I'm not "out of it" or anything like that.

Sincerely,
Jaded

Against the Odds

My daughter has been in the custody of the state (Indiana) for about 4 weeks and my story is one that I have yet to see. My daughter and I have had some serious issues for about a year and a half. A drug addict takes drugs to get high and my daughter has never seen me high. I take them so I can get out of bed in the morning. Has anyone else had this issue? My case plan involves rehab. I could get off the meds but then wouldn't be able to take care of my daughter because I couldn't get out of bed. I have raised two children and this is my first involvement with CPS. My ex called them because I was trying to get help so I could get her into counseling.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!
